Last year I wrote about Craig Alan Huber’s quest to document the places associated with the life of Junípero Serra. His gorgeous book is now in print and available at a discount to CaliforniaFrontier.net readers. Below you will find the original post with an update about where you can purchase the book:
Craig Alan Huber has a knack for making breathtaking photos with his large format cameras, (like the ones Ansel Adams used).
I’ve met Craig at several California Mission Studies Association conferences, and I’ve always been impressed by his contagious enthusiasm and his artistic talent.
Now he has dedicated his talents to capturing on film — something pretty rare these days — the many places marked by Junipero Serra’s influence.
Craig’s latest endeavor is the fruit of his seven-year journey to discover the inner soul of Junipero Serra, and he is producing a beautiful art book to document his journeys.
The images presented in this project are from my pilgrimages to thirty-seven sites where Serra had an impact.
Craig’s photos aim to capture the invisible essence of visible objects and to tell us something new about the man Junipero Serra. If you would like to find out more about Craig’s homage to the friar from Mallorca, visit our page dedicated to The Spirit Within Saint Junípero. You’ll be impressed.
